Life is full of challenges… Let’s gather up your strengths and improve things! The fact that you are seeking new solutions to ongoing problems already shows lots of courage and resiliency. Instead of asking ‘What is wrong with you?’, we can ask ‘What happened and how did you survive?’
I’ve been in private practice for over 20 years, taught in both graduate and undergraduate universities and supervised therapists-in-training. I’ve had the privilege to dive deeply into many aspects of psychology by teaching a wide variety of subjects. From “Couples Counseling” to “Human Sexuality”, from “Lifespan Development” to “Theories for the Professional Counselor”, I draw from a rich and varied set of ideas.
My specialty is using a strength-based approach called ‘Positive Psychology’ to jump-start healthy change. Positive Psychology is the scientific study of what makes life most worth living. It is a call for psychological science and practice to be as concerned with strength as with weakness; as interested in building the best things in life as in repairing the worst; and as concerned with making your life fulfilling as with healing ongoing issues. Along with evidence-based practices such as EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and mindfulness, many treatment options are available.
I’ve also worked as a video producer for over 20 years and captured in-vivo sessions with master therapists and videos of some of my brave clients sharing their solutions to relationship conflicts, anxiety, stress and depression for others to consider.
It’s up to you how we work together. We can talk face-to-face via video, phone or use chats. You could also explore my online tools for some dynamic interactive experiences. We can play customized board games to learn more about your personality, role play to practice new ways to communicate, use artwork to illustrate difficult feelings and try guided imagery to lessen anxiety.
